American-Palestinian Youth Released After Nine-Month Period in Israeli Custody

An American-Palestinian adolescent after completing a nine-month period in Israeli detention without being charged gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested in February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.

The US state department expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"At this moment, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives the immediate medical attention he needs after experiencing Israel's abuse and brutal treatment over several months."

The state department said it would continue to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," it added.

A group of American legislators endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and the White House, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

The father, parent of four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

He had not seen or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, and only heard what had happened to him in detention through court documents.

The teenager remained lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.

It is also home to grown detainees, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and murder.

An estimated 350 Palestinian minors in security custody being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.

No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We expect United States leadership to ensure our family's safety," family representatives emphasized.
