Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
