Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's triumph, the talented actors also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers won 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 categories—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by experts.
