Reports indicate that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.

A Major Reunion for Fans

The actors are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Speculation suggests their cameos will likely occur in a future-set scene, given that the main film series concluded with their characters living in peace.

This signifies the sixth installment in the highly successful Hunger Games franchise.

Delving Into the Prequel

Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It will be the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who was behind the majority of the previous films in the series.

The Storyline and Fresh Faces

The film's events are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.

The cast also includes several accomplished actors in key parts:

• Jesse Plemons steps into the role of Plutarch Heavensbee.
• Ralph Fiennes will appear as a younger version of the calculating President Snow.

What the Stars Are Doing Now & The Film's Schedule

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence is receiving acclaim for the film Die My Love. Josh Hutcherson stars in the sequel to the successful franchise Five Nights at Freddy's 2.

Regarding the production schedule:

2. Filming was completed in November of the same year.
