The former president's Family Member Seeks Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Prior to Professional Golf Debut
The rising star boasts considerable online audience
Kai Trump can count on multiple high-profile backers when she begins her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates multiple international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that Trump, who won't be present, advised her: "Simply stay calm."
"My grandpa practically advised me to go out there and relax," she explained.
"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's quite busy."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in only three events this year and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
However she's able to receive tips from golf legend, who is dating her mother.
"He stands as the best player worldwide," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He suggested me to play, relax, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge some of top competitors in the sport at the Annika, featuring second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Officials stated that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, particularly among the next generation.
The young star maintains substantial online presence and recently launched her own fashion and living label.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
