The Red Devils Poised to Secure Germany Forward Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are finalising completing the signing for prolific German forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move from Bayern Munich.
A Major Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with half a year remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goal-getter for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. This signing will be seen as a marquee signing for the Women’s Super League side.
Her exit from Munich has been anticipated after she appeared to be fighting back tears while applauding the German club’s supporters following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in late December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its top forwards. According to multiple sources, the formalities for the move have now been completed.
Consistent Goal Threat to Strengthen United's Attack
The experienced striker's signing should represent a major boost to the team's forward line. She has been highly reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when the club seem to be building momentum.
Their recent performances feature securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the League Cup quarter-finals.

- The signing of Sweden right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
- The new deal for Japan playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, a popular figure since arriving in 2023.
On Miyazawa’s new deal, a club official commented: “She has become a vital part to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and skill allows her and the team to control and dictate play from the middle of the park.”
Lundkvist, who has arrived from a club in the American league, added: “You can sense how much they [United] have progressed in the last few years, playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the Champions League.”
