Trump Organization Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its hiring of overseas employees on short-term work permits this period, while his government was placing obstacles for other businesses attempting to do the same, a report released recently stated.

According to data from the federal labor department, the Trump Organization aimed to hire at least nearly 200 overseas employees in the coming year for temporary positions at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, golf facilities and his winery in Virginia.

The quantity of requests for temporary work visas for workers including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and farm workers was the record filed by the company, and increased from over 120 in the previous term, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth time in 10 years that the former president had sought to hire more than 100 foreign employees for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The disclosure coincides with a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has included the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who possess US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and reporters.

Overall, the business sought to hire over 560 overseas workers over the five years the former president has been in the White House, from his first term and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was criticized by certain in the GOP this period for remarks defending the need for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.

“You cannot just say a nation is coming in, going to invest billions to build a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It doesn’t work that well,” he stated to a host after she suggested that overseas employees undercut the wages of American employees.

The White House refused a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an request for information.
